SAP Finance/Material Management Configuror (FI,BCS,FM,PR,AP)
Serves as the District's resident expert as well as the internal consultant to SAP team members on the technical configuration and maintenance of assigned SAP system(s) module(s); defines, promulgates, and maintains standards and best practices for District SAP application implementations that fall within assigned area.

EDUCATION:
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a degree preferably with a major in finance, accounting, business administration, public administration, computer information systems, management information systems, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:
Three years of recent full-time paid professional-level experience in the technical configuration of a SAP Finance or Material Management system. Experience with a full life-cycle implementation of a SAP Finance or Material Management system is desirable.

SPECIAL:
A completed SAP certificate from a recognized institution in finance or material management is desirable. A valid Class "C" California driver's license must be obtained within 60 days of appointment. Travel throughout the District may be required.

KNOWLEDGE OF:
Principles of SAP Human Resources system modules with an emphasis on Benefits, Organizational Management, and Personnel Administration if assigned to this area
Principles of SAP Human Resources system module with an emphasis on Payroll and Time Management if assigned to this area
Principles of SAP systems modules with an emphasis on Finance, Budget Control System, Planning Budget and Formulation, Funds Management, Government Risk and Compliance, Procurement, and Accounts Payable if assigned to this area
Principles and techniques of systems analysis, configuration, and testing
SAP systems modules integration issues
Methods of developing operational process specifications
Characteristics and capabilities of state-of-the art technology of assigned SAP system module information processing
Industry and professional standards for key business systems, procedures, and methods of assigned SAP area

ABILITY TO:
Act as an expert on the technical configuration and maintenance of assigned SAP system module(s)
Analyze existing manual and computerized operational procedures involving information processing systems and develop improvements pertinent to assigned area
Develop and document operational and technical processes, functions, and procedures involving assigned SAP system module(s) in understandable terms and develop appropriate solutions
Express difficult and complex concepts clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
Write clear comprehensive reports, instructions, and training materials
Write clear and logical documentation

Performs technical configuration tasks in a support environment which may require ABAP programming knowledge and tests the functionality of assigned SAP system(s) module(s) from development to production.
Using advanced concepts and techniques, analyzes and evaluates complex technical operational work methods, procedures, controls, and information and documentation systems; develops new rules and procedures related to assigned area.
Interfaces with functional unit process owners and end-users to identify, define, and document operational needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access related to assigned area; recommends solution options.
Provides input on assigned SAP system(s) module(s) design changes/enhancements for improved systems, business performance, and cost-effectiveness.
Advises SAP project team members in the development, maintenance, and promulgation of SAP systems standards and best practices that fall within the assigned area and ensures that assigned SAP system(s) module(s) are developed according to architecture standards and established methodologies and practices.
Acts as the technical expert on SAP application integration issues that fall within assigned area.
Defines and documents assigned SAP system(s) module(s) processes and transactions in support of business processes defined by functional unit process owners.
Acts as a liaison between technical teams and functional teams.
Applies functional knowledge to design and customize workflow systems that provide seamless integration for assigned SAP system(s) module(s).
Interfaces with end-users to interpret and clarify technical configuration details and process change requirements of assigned SAP system(s) module(s).
Evaluates the operational effects of applications software.
Acts as a liaison between departmental end-users and programming personnel in the analysis, design, configuration, testing, and maintenance of assigned SAP system(s) module(s) to ensure optimal system performance.
Identifies opportunities for improving business processes to process owners and management through information systems related to assigned area.
Analyzes the feasibility of, and develops requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems that fall within assigned area, and ensures that the system architecture fits the needs of the end-users.
Provides technical assistance in training, mentoring, and coaching professional and technical staff on matters related to the technical configuration and maintenance of assigned SAP system(s) module(s).
Maintains effective and cooperative working relationships with process owners, District staff, project consultants, and vendors.
Provides post implementation support by serving as a liaison to process owners, colleges, and end-users to troubleshoot technical configuration and maintenance problems involving assigned SAP systems(s) module(s).
Writes reports, correspondence, documentation, and presentations containing descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content including the preparation of projections, conclusions, and recommendations affecting the technical configuration and maintenance of assigned SAP system(s) module(s).
Attends SAP systems related technical conferences and seminars as designated by supervisor and briefs project team members on new developments.
Performs related duties as assigned.

An SAP Human Resources Configuror (Payroll, TM) serves as the District's resident expert as well as the internal consultant to SAP team members on the technical configuration and maintenance of a SAP Human Resources system module with an emphasis on Payroll and Time Management; defines, promulgates, and maintains standards and best practices for District SAP systems implementations that fall within assigned area.

An SAP Finance/Material Management Configuror (FI, BCS, FM, PR, AP, PBF, GRC) serves as the District's resident expert as well as the internal consultant to SAP team members on the technical configuration and maintenance of assigned SAP systems modules with an emphasis on Finance, Budget Control System, Funds Management, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Planning Budget and Formulation, and Government Risk and Compliance; defines, promulgates, and maintains standards and best practices for District SAP systems implementations that fall within assigned area.

An SAP/ERP Manager plans, defines, and develops, SAP/ERP systems strategies and standards, and coordinates, manages, and reviews the work of assigned SAP/ERP production support and project teams engaged in analyzing and defining assigned SAP/ERP systems functions and business processes and user needs, configuring, and maintaining SAP/ERP systems modules, and validating the systems design. Systems modules include but are not limited to SAP Human Resources, SAP Financial, SAP Material Management, SAP Project Systems, SAP Government Risk and Compliance, SAP Planning Budget and Formulation, SAP Plant Maintenance, SAP HP Quality Assurance, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP Portal (ESS and MSS), and ERP student systems modules.

An SAP Project Coordinator (Finance) coordinates, organizes, and supervises the work of an assigned SAP team engaged in analyzing and defining SAP Financial, SAP Material Management, SAP Planning Budget and Formulation, and project systems functions, processes, and user needs, performing functional configuration and maintenance tasks for SAP financial/material management and project systems modules, and validating the systems design; develops and designs appropriate business processes in conjunction with functional managers and personally performs the more complex professional work of the team. Incumbents in this class are not required to perform technical programming duties.

An SAP Project Coordinator (Human Resources) coordinates, organizes, and supervises the work of an assigned SAP team engaged in analyzing and defining human resources functions, processes, and user needs, performing functional configuration and maintenance tasks for SAP Human Resources and SAP Portal (ESS and MSS) modules, and validating the systems design; develops and designs appropriate business processes in conjunction with functional managers and personally performs the more complex professional work of the team. Incumbents in this class are not required to perform technical programming duties.
